alt.christnet.nudism is the Usenet newsgroup for Christian naturists. Unfortunately, it's sometimes filled with garbage spams due to its low volume. The legitimate postings are often general naturist posts, rather than specifically Christian naturist discussion. However, things are beginning to turn around. 1.  Is this for real?

Yes, there are actually quite a few Christians who are also nudists.  
This group was created for discussion by Christian nudists, nudists 
interested in Christianity, and Christians with questions about nudism.
Over the past few years there has been a real upswing in Christian nudist
activity, publication, and contacts.


2.  Why is there so much garbage posted here?

This group is unmoderated.  Any person can post whatever they want.

Because many people falsely equate nudity with sex and social nudism
with sexual activity, many misunderstand the purpose of the group and make
sexually-oriented posts.  This also occurs in other nudist/naturist
discussion groups. 

Because many people have special religious agendas they wish to promote,
they often falsely believe it will do them good to make posts to all of
the "alt.christnet" groups which exist.  Therefore, we also get many
Christian-oriented or religion-content posts which have nothing to do with
nudism.

Some people insist on being greedy, childish, annoying, or hostile.   
Many people massively post or cross-post advertisements, flames, and other
drek.  This is an unwanted but inevitablepart of any unmoderated newsgroup.

Finally, we're all human.  Therefore, even some of the regulars here
probably post things we shouldn't.  That is also an inevitable part
of any unmoderated group.


3.  Where can I get more information on Christians and nudism?

The granddaddy of all Christian Nudist Web sites is my own

the "Christian and Naturism Info Sheet" was created in late 1994.  Most, 
if not all, of these pages should be accessible from this site.

It also include pointers to information on Christian Nudist groups,
gatherings, publications (print and email), online chat, and more.


4.  What does "ACN" mean in some subject lines?

It is an attempt by regular posters to the newsgroup to identify on-topic
posts from the SPAM and other garbage which fills the newsgroup.  "ACN"
stands for "alt.christnet.nudism".

Please note while this generally works, there is nothing which inherently
prevents an off-topic or abusive poster from using "ACN" in their subject
line.  (It is just much less likely.)  Also, please note that many
on-topic posts will omit the "ACN" for various reasons.
