Kennedy Hot Springs is located at 3,300 feet in the Glacier Peak Wilderness northeast of Everett. After a 5 mile hike, you will welcome the body temperature hot springs. The springs fill a small 4x5 foot soaking pool that is traditionally CO and extremely popular. The park is open all year around. See the local park rangers for an over night permit.
DIRECTIONS: From Seattle, head north on I-5 to Route 530 and then turn east and go east past Darrington to Service Road 23. Turn onto SR 23 and go to its end. This is Trailhead 643 up to White Chuck Canyon where you will find the springs. It is strongly recommended that you stop at the ranger station in Darrington for a map, permits and weather conditions.

I was there a couple years ago. Other than the fact that the water is warm (in itself an amazing thing) it doesn't have much to recommend it. The spring has been dug into a soaking pit (quite deep!) lined with planks--about four feet on a side. The water is a dirty brown color, not very warm and it doesn't appear that there is a lot of flow through, so the water in the pit has been there a long time, through many bathers. It is a nice location, however, alongside a fast-running creek. If you want to visit as many hot springs as possible, be sure to visit Kennedy. Otherwise, save your efforts for a greater reward. (Kennedy is CO.)
