Special event - Artist Colony Day - June 30th 2007
Below are examples of Figure Drawing Art being produced in our area. ~ It is a small attempt to showcase the work of our local artists in this most classic of art forms. ~ That which celebrates
the beauty and complexity of the human body.
We hope to expand the horizons of this and perhaps other figure
drawing communities. ~ To have people with artistic ability or appreciation to be more aware of all that’s out there to be done. ~ Those who draw the figures, those who are the figures, and the places where it is
done need to know of each other. ~ For artists to learn of the many opportunities available, for models to find reliable work, and for the venues to promulgate, and for society to benefit.
So if you are a WNY figure drawing artist, please send us a few
examples of your work to show the world... Include a short bio and your website if you have one, so that we may link to it. Email us scans, or digital photos, of work you’ve done at a figure drawing
session in WNY. ~ Of course we reserve the right reject any drawing or painting at our discression, but our criteria should be clear enough.

MODELS
 Are you a nude model? ~ Have you considered being one? Let us know who you are and we’ll do the rest. ~ You’ll be one in very short order. ~ But fear not, all model contact
information is kept strictly confidential and divulged only to legitimate art institutes, colleges, and the like. ~ Those we know who hire life-study models on a regular basis.
Your chances of working are very good if you are female..,
simply because there are less of you doing so. ~ It matters not your looks, age (18 & over of course), or size. ~ You will likely find work within 10 days of contacting us. ~
Male models are however not as fortunate. ~ There are many more of them, such as myself for instance. ~ Still, if you’re persistant and found to be reliable by those who
schedule in advance, you will see more and more jobs come your way.
The pay usually runs between $15.00 and $20.00 an hour depending on the venue.
Please send your contact information, a general description, and any previous
experience, to febaker@olm1.com . A photo (nude or clothed) is requested but not required. ~ *Nothing* sent to us will be made known to anyone else without your
consent. ~ We advise you of all those we would pass you to, particular colleges, etc., for your ok.., prior to doing so.
We will respond to submissions or questions within 24 hours. ~ You can also learn
much more by checking out my drawing and modeling pages.
Experience is not necessary. ~ Full nudity is. ~ Your tools are a body and a towel
to sit it on. ~ You might also bring a robe or other easy coverup for break times.
And last of all. ~ The models are paid either by the educational institutions who
hire them, or in some cases the artists themselves who chip in to pay for a session. I personally do not receive renumeration of any kind for my efforts to promote the figure drawing art form.
