Nude Drawing

Other than appreciating art as I do.., modeling was as far into it as I ‘figured’ to go... ~ But it wasn’t. ~ When I realized I’d been receiving a lot of free college level art lessons over my modeling years, I thought it’d be worth seeing what good they did me. ~ Here is some of my work. ~ From the beginning through to the present.

The first aren’t bad for a beginner, eh? :-) ~ Not if you don’t compare them to those that were done of me by others.., on the Nude Modeling page.

I’ve even come to running a weekly figure drawing session at my home now. ~ I took over a group that drew at a local college when the guy who ran it had to quit. ~ No one in the group wanted to stop drawing together so I volunteered my home. It’s been very enjoyable and rewarding. ~ I’ve enlarged and remodeled the drawing room, bought easels and other items for use by the artists, and we have great breaks with good desserts, coffee, pop, apple juice, etc. ~ There’s nice background music, lighting, and a big variety of models. ~ I’m paying a little more than average so they like to work here. ~ Not to mention my sessions are attracting several who are in charge of and/or instructors at various art centers in WNY. ~ They come here to draw. ~ I like that... :-)

I’ve been at it for a few years now. ~ Here’s an example of what I did, pretty much right away.

More recently, February of 2006, I modeled with a couple of females... One each on two different days of Figure Drawing sessions that were held for members of the Buffalo and Erie County Albright Knox Art Museum...

They were great fun and very enjoyable, just for the ‘doing it’, you know? <g>

Unfortunately the ladies didn’t want me to put photographs on the internet, but I did get some shots of the drawings that were done by artists who were there. Here’s one for now. Pretty nice work if you ask me. :-)

I need to say too, that the artist who let me take this photo of his drawing did so with no questions asked as to where it might be used, so I’m sure he would will not care that it appears online.., but if he were to request it be removed I would most certainly do so... I’ll give him credit too, if he tells me who he is...
