So you don’t believe being nude will help the environment, do you..?

We’ll tell you a story...    :-)

Once upon a time there was Adam and Eve... And the world was fresh and clean. They did not drill for oil for producing any clothing material. ~ They did not produce the chemical dyes, bleaches, reagents and the rest that are needed to create clothes from all the many raw materials used. ~ There was no urban sprawl destroying farm and natural lands and caused by thousands and thousands of miles of malls and department stores across the country, full of clothes for sale. ~ They did not burn or bury millions of tons of 'out of style' but still perfectly wearable wardrobe every year just to keep up with the ‘latest’... ~ Of course needing to produce that much more again. ~ They did not constantly add detergents to their laundry, polluting the water supply. ~ They did not use up electricity or gas, manufacturing all of this clothing or in the never ending ritual of washing the dirt out of it and ironing everything flat. ~ Eliminating of course, the need for consuming the fuels..; coal, nuclear, and other environmentally disastrous methods of producing power. ~ Adam and Eve didn't even use up *water*...

That was a while ago and unfortunately things are different now. ~ No one made any money with that other system.

Since then people have figured out how to overcome that problem; creating 100 more in it’s place. ~  And we see the results... ~ With the proportional increase of population causing a much greater environmental impact,  have seen the biggest part of our current troubles develop within the last 50 years. ~ We used to swim in a creek under a bridge in West Seneca NY and there was green moss growing along the bottom of the sluces we slid through. ~ There were always other families swimming under that bridge whenever we went there. It was made for kids and swimming.    Fifteen years ago I took my kids there to show them where we used to play. ~ Everything was pretty much the same..., except the people were gone..., and the moss was brown. ~  The environment has deteriorated tragically and terribly just in my lifetime. ~ How old are you? ~ Have you seen change? ~  I see acid rain quickly melting the Greek, Roman and Egyptian granite statues and buildings that have stood for thousands of years. ~ I see that most lakes in this country, including those very isolated, now contain undrinkable water and many are totally lifeless. ~ I have seen major increases in medical problems and deaths attributed to the atmosphere and working places. ~ None of this was going on when I was young. ~ But.., they have made *some* corrections to this totally destructive direction. ~  As in bio-degradable soap.. Ha! ~  So they would have you believe.

They still have to make the soap; using electricity, gas, chemicals, dyes, oil, etc. ~  They still have to package it using plastics and trees. ~ They still have to deliver it with trucks spewing emissions and consuming fuel and other resources. ~ They still have to remove it from our potable water treatment systems. ~ And of course there is that packaging. ~ What it all arrives in. ~ Pretty colored boxes and wrappers and bubble wraps and such. ~ So we aren’t done. ~ There is still that remaining need to get rid of all that crap with stinking garbage trucks and dumps.

People living nude would save our environment.   There is no question about that.
